How the hell..
I heard both of them! This is some kind of high level mindfuckery lol. I heard yanny first, then I heard laurel. I was sure that they changed the sounds so I replayed it.. Still heard yanny. But then still heard laurel later. Now after listening three times I can't hear yanny.
I've never been stumped by any of these perception test type things.. That was creepy.

Ok.. I'm able to switch between hearing Yanny and Laurel (using thoughts and head positions) can't do it every time, but I can switch it! I don't wanna listen to that recording too much, I have good hearing, and there's some odd sounds and background noise..
Makes me think this thing could be embedded with some odd frequencies. Set it up as a fun hearing test to get people to listen to it a lot!

Our ears are capable of hearing many things that our brains filter out...often times our brains fill in the gaps with what we think the person is saying. This is why students in the same lecture hall hear different things and take different notes.

I want to address this. The article writer consulted an expert for these genius answers here. Acoustic information is arranged by the playback source, yes. But everyone should be hearing the same acoustic arrangement Who ever heard of an audio machine that plays different frequencies relative to the observer?? People hear different things coming from the same playback source. That’s why it’s strange that you can play one clip to several people sitting in the same room and not everyone hears the same thing. but some of it is the mechanics of your earsReally?! Ears may explain why people hear sounds?! the key is frequencyIs this because sound is a frequency fixed by the little mechanics who live in my ears? This is a revalation. It’s astounding. ..what you’re expecting to hearIsnt this sort of oblivious of a thing to say since the whole debate is about how the clip sounds a certain way *despite* expectations they should sound another? Also, if this is an expectations trick, you ought to he able to interchange the illusion once you are aware of it My mom was obstinate that she could NOT hear anything other than Yanny, for me vice versa Some can reverse it, but seems most cant This is a very peculiar quality for an illusion to have

I honestly think it's very possible this was a data-scrapping experiment designed to catalog what frequency range you are accustomed to hearing naturally.
For instance, the moment the individual posts if they hear yanny it's recorded that this person is tuned to higher end frequency ranges while the other person comments that they hear laurel so its documented that they hear lower end frequencies.
With the 5G towers rolling out I can't help but get the feeling that it's going to be very important to determine what frequency an individual is tuned to as I feel psychotronic methods of social control (whether used aggressively in terms of warfare and crowd control or used passively as marketing and advertising tools) will be more and more common place even if the general public has no idea what it is.
