1. Pretend the Mind Control is working.. play along with it.. while you are absorbing all the Handler's Knowledge
2. Learn Handling Techniques.. So you can spot exactly what your Celebrity Handler is doing
3. Play with your Handler.. Let him/her think she is control
4. Realize that you must be Self Independent.. and not have to rely on the Handler.. FOR ANYTHING.. if you desire nothing.. You become SuperPowerful
5. Control every one of your alters.. whether they be real or fake.. notice what thy Handler does to try and invoke each one..
6. Make the Handler think they failed.. they will leave you alone.. after a while.. all the while you have increased your knowledge base immensely

I've only used my abilities on the offense for defense if that makes sense. Pre-emptively...or retaliatory. There have been times that my protectors have done the same, for me. Psi-warfare is very delicate business and one where you don't play unless you really, really know how.
