Hello, I am new here so I hope I am doing everything right. Well, I have had sleep problems for years, along with anxiety and overthinking. No matter how tired I am, I am simply unable to sleep. I have reached a point that I want to jump off a window due to my desperation. I have started sessions with a psychologist, but in order to start sleeping (I am exhausted and I cannot do ANYTHING anymore) I visited a psychiatrist. He prescribed xanax 0.5 mg. I started with 0.5 mg, not effective, went on with 1 mg, effective for the first day, now I must take 2 mg and still, I don't feel relaxed. All this happened in like 6 days or so. Then, he prescribed Hypnosedon, which is exclusively for sleep (1mg) and said that I could take 1mg of Xanax along with Hypnosedon if I saw that it was not working. Tried it yesterday, guess what, 2 hours later I was not able to sleep. I feel exhausted, I have no life anymore, and unfortunately the doctors will be back after August, due to summer vacation. Would you suggest that I take 2mg of Hypnosedon or 1mg as prescribed, along with 1.5mg or 2mg of Xanax? Do you have a similar experience?

There're so many things you can try  First of all, take at least 10-minute walk before the sleep. Do physical exercises to the point of exhaustion, or in your case just sit-ups. Find 10 minutes and do it non-stop till you don't feel your leg. Breath exercises throughout the day. When you're in bed, try to memorize all the day in every tiniest detail and you should do it without inner dialog it should be just inner description. I bet you'll be sleeping before you remember what you were eating at lunch. And the last thing which helped me enormously is hypnosis. Now it's available on phones and other devices. It helped me to completely fix my inner rhythms. It was this audio hypnosis for sleeping . If all these methods didn't work feel free to write me.
