The word Tarot (tarut => truth) is an ancient esoteric tradition which I think is pretty fascinating.
Most think of tarot in terms of divinations but there is a much greater use in merely having understanding.
I listen to Tarot readings and while I can usually find something worth considering, every now & then the entertainment value is top notch!

That was pretty funny when he pulled the seven of swords. The best Tarot reader I have seen is AkashikRecord, the poster on GLP. I am not much into the cards myself but entertaining it is, and power it has. It is also loads of fun. A few beers in, a sprinkle of belief and anything can happen.

Someone on GLP did some excellent posts on some of the individual Tarot cards of the Major Arcana and I have to go find it again.
I listen to a wide variety of general readings like construction workers listen to the radio, in general I have found readers to be good counsel and it seems the increased awareness adds dimensions to my playbook. I have yet to get a personal reading so I have not experienced the divination aspect.
Astrology tends to be more useful for me in regards to the energies as it relates to time gnosis, attempting to map out, prepare for and understand the coming energies so that I can ride them; Though to be honest I have yet to really accurately/reliably forecast any particular given time and the most significant use of astrology for me seems to be in hind sight, looking back to gain clarity and understanding after the fact. Tarot applies more to the energies of people & situations and therefore seems to be better suited for manifestation on a micro level.
I used to make myself a CD of songs which suited that point in my life and that CD would essentially be a soundtrack that was relevant for weeks, months or years, I still do this but I don't listen to music like I once did. This morning I put on an instrumental and began my envisioning about 6 months out, I worked my way backwards in time, the most detailed of the vision being my day today, all while jumping (invisible/imaginary) rope, a little dancing, and some pacing back & forth. While astrology & tarot weren't what I focused on, they played a role in how I formulated & arrived at said vision.
