Photos: Pregnant Deer in My Yard 9 Pregnant Deer .... in my backyard... Oh and one licks my hand and eats bagels. I've named her Ethel. Ah country living LOL. Methinks we shall have a plethora of fawns this season. Have you ever been licked by a deer? Well yes, yes I have. One more item to check off the bucket list. haha

I also had a family of foxes in my yard a couple of years ago. The little ones are soooo cute. They lived under our shed, but the mama finally moved the kits after a coyote came into the yard - which I chased away! oy All of the little ones grew up just fine though. They would come around once they were grown and romp and play in the yard. Photos: Foxes and Fox Kits

I love these moments with the natural world, especially watching a new generation come about and grow and develop. Always fascinated me the use of "play" in the animal kingdom and how important it seems no matter the species. I always have to remind myself to "play", to let go, to be in those natural moments and enjoy, frolic with the gift of living that is (without sounding cliche) so precious. You made my day with your post, helping to shift my mood from one of those long kinda days. Again, thank you for that so so so much. Much love to you.

You made my day with your post, helping to shift my mood from one of those long kinda days. Again, thank you for that so so so much. Much love to you. Aw you're welcome. There is kind of a cool story about the foxes. The daddy fox - who's in one of the photos - started coming to my back yard first. We feed a feral kitty outside and put her food up on our back porch. I work from home and looked outside through the sliding glass doors one day and saw a fox up on the porch eating the cat food. I looked closely and saw that he was hobbling. I think one of his legs was broken - it wasn't a terrible break but it looked to be fractured or something. I guess he couldn't run and catch prey, so I felt bad for the poor critter and started to put food in a separate dish for him. He came by every day and ate it haha. I noticed over a few weeks that his leg healed. After that he came back with a mate - a female fox who was slightly larger than him. There's a pic of her in there too. She wouldn't come on the porch, so I took a bigger dish of leftovers out to the two of them at the edge of the yard every evening. Foxes are omnivores, and they eat meat, fruit and bread. They would sit quietly at the same time every evening waiting for me lol. One day I looked out of the window and saw little kits! They were romping around the mom, and the dad was taking food to them and dropping it in front of them lol. It was really cute. The mom and dad then moved the whole bunch - 5 kits in all to the space under our shed which sits about a foot off the ground. Then I had a whole family to feed! OMG they ate plates of hot dogs, chicken, apples and ham and bread. After they were in the yard for about 3 or 4 weeks, early one morning I heard an urgent barking sound - kind of like a hoarse dog's bark. I looked out of the window and saw the mama fox barking and streaking through the yard. I ran out onto the porch and she ran straight up an oak tree (yes foxes can climb). I looked at the edge of the yard and there was a HUUUUGE coyote standing there staring at me. I thought it was a wolf it was so big. I live in central Texas - in Hill Country. They say the coyotes are as large as wolves here because they are hybrids and have interbred with large dogs. At first I felt a wave of fear. It wasn't running - it was just staring at me. I was in a t-shirt and shorts with no shoes on. But then I thought of the fox mom and the kits under the shed! I freaked out - NO WAY was a coyote going to eat those babies. So I ran full force at the coyote screaming and waving my arms. It turned tail and ran away. I guess it didn't want to tangle with a crazy lady lol. It never came into my yard again. But I guess that was a warning to the foxes that a coyote had found their den, so a few days later they moved out. All 7 of them still came for dinner each night until the kits were fully grown, but they moved to a different den further in the woods. And there you go - my fox story haha <3

You know, you have posted some of the posts I have most appreciated here. I know I've fought with your friend, and I'm sorry for that. I just wanted you to know that I see how wonderful your mind is. I am so glad for Kayli's sake that I have not run you off. I bow to you I$ B - you are a good one.

Wow... no, no bow, maybe dap, hi-5, an American hug or maybe a Latin one with a kiss on the cheek, but no, now bow... I am truly honored by your compliments though, utmost gratitude to you.
I think you're talking about Chris (ChrisP) when you mention my friend? I would be honored to be his friend because he seems like friendship material but on my Honor I have literally spoken with him in private one time, I welcomed him back on probably his second account here & I think he merely said thanks, that's it, nothing we did here was as friends, in collaboration or any of that, that was all genuinely 2 individuals who saw things similarly. From what I can tell there is a mutual admiration & respect, those absolutely exist on my end anyway and from what I can tell they do on his end too, and I'm Honored that the guy see's whatever he does in me if in fact that is the case.
I'm not sure what exactly happened between you two, I was actually surprised that he didn't accept your apology to be honest and I have no clue what the answer is except to let time do what it does, act consistently as if he had accepted it, I do think he seemed to make it clear he appreciated your support of Caylus so I'd bet he doesn't harbor any hate towards you, again, I have no clue what that all looked like from his perspective, I never really thought you were very far out of line to be honest but again, 2 different sets of eyes, 2 different come-froms, so I'm not saying he was wrong.
I actually saw your post either the night you posted it or the next day, I meant to comment then but didn't, no particular reason it just didn't happen, even tonight I was on my way to bed and that's why I did so short, besides, 'dope' about sums it up well. I have an acct here, I'll send you a PM, I just post under I$B for recognizability. And the only thing if any that keeps me from posting is the weirdness of it all, I have yet to figure out what all of this was, I seem to get mostly distant (but appreciated) love from it at this point but no one has ever said anything to me about it, that's kinda weird, lol. I also rarely talk to Caylus and it's short when I do, she is another who I have much admiration & respect for, regardless of how she may feel about me, I also know the nature of Cancers, they give all to a few as opposed to having many that they give a little to, so I'm in no way mad at her for being true to her nature, I wish her the best.

Haha okay then - how about a curtsy and a hug? And thank you - I appreciate your perspective regarding Chris. I think I may have pushed him far enough that he did not trust an apology. We barely know each other, so it's not surprising. I take no offense really. At any rate, I'm glad to meet you, and I hope we can continue conversing. I find your insight on the world interesting. And also - Blessed are the peacemakers.
