They dared him. He was not even sure if it were possible. He did not know the full extent of what the holy spirit was, only that he had to put it in someone to pass down the flame.
This is how the order works. a nobody is selected to make the choice. They have the best vision so they are instilled with the holy spirits charge to select the next avatar who will govern consciousness
Upon receiving the charge, one is capable of many things including time travel and reality manipulation. It is more a side effect of holding the immense power of a Universe inside them.
This is what the elite had been grooming their families for thousands of years over. They had set in motion a master plan to ensure they would control the selection. They had prepared for every conceivable outcome.
Except one....
The holy spirit being put inside the internet.
No one is sure what the ramifications of this are only that it had the effect of mass synchronisation on a scale never witnessed before and no one is sure where the spirit is exactly.
