As most of you know I work for gamestop and I'm a video game fan. I don't play call of duty or battlefield but I love my vidya. Do you love vidya? What do you love? One of my favorite franchises I recently discovered was all the zero escape games - 999, Virtue's Last Reward, and Zero Time Dilemma. Now I've beaten them and am sad. Last night I bought Grand Theft Auto V and minecraft for ps4 from my store (employee discount!) . I have already played both of these games on my other consoles in the past but am having a lot of fun with 'em again. The desire to replay GTA5 came from 1) it's Los Angeles 2) I want to deal with my feelings towards LA in a virtual environment where I am free to fuck up the city however I want  3) I never played the game "seriously" (ie beat the story) in the past because I used to just put cheat codes in and fuck around (I have never played a Grand Theft Auto game any other way). On the 3DS I am playing monster hunter generations, albiet slowly. I am drowning in a sea of video game goodness, but the loss of my beloved zero escape series has made me sad. The main creator of that series however has made some other super mindfucky Visual Novels I can't play due to not having a PC right now. Much sadness. So what are y'all playing? What do you like? |

Thanks for making this thread, was meaning to do so myself. <3 GTA... oh yes, some fine memories to be had with this series! Started my killing-sprees with GTA 2 on the PC at the same time Tony-Hawks Proskater was VERY popular around my corner. I've played all parts since then - Vice City, San Andreas and GTA3 (The best one by far!). Haven't gotten to GTA5 because I upgraded my hardware only early this year. But from what I've heard it's not that special, watched some Let's Plays and just lost interest. The series I adore most to this day is another Sandbox game series called Saints-Row. Epic.  I love strategy games, be it Command and Conquer, Age of Empires, ANNO, Europa Universalis, Warcraft 3, Simcity, or Starcraft. My go to strategy game at the moment is Cities Skylines. You just build your city and the infrastructure that comes with it. Spent countless hours in it already, very soothing. Now for the juicy part:  Yes, I did play World of Warcraft, was second best equipped Retribution Paladin on the biggest Server (Frostwolf) at one point. I was doing my Apprenticeship at that time and even skipped school to go on raids. x) After that I started a little bit of DotA but got stuck with League of Legends. I got some 3000 wins on all my accounts, add like just as much losses and multiply average game time - oh lawd, don't do it ;_____________; Aaanyways. Still play LoL from time to time but it has somehow lost it's appeal, it's to slow for me. Uhhh there was Ragnarok Online, it's graphics are bad but the community and the feel of it was epic! Those GM Events were a sight to behold too, usually crashed the servers due to meteorstorms hailing throughout every map and stuff like that. You just tried not to die and loot all the mobs which were killed that way. xD Currently I'm playing another game from Blizzard called Overwatch. And I'm trying to perfect Mercy, a support class Healer. I've got my gaming-addiction fairly under control now though, only play 2-3 times a week and just for 1 or 2 hours at a time.  Ahhhjajaja good ol days I tell you. Naturally there was stuff like minecraft or solitair to keep me busy during my downtimes. I was never much into consoles, had the Gamecube and an old PS1 but most fun was had on the N64. Those Mariokart races/battles always braught us together when we were kids - not to mention MarioParty. Other games I very much enjoyed were the Golden Sun games, Chronotrigger, Banjo n Kazooe, Rayman, F-Zero, Diddy Kong Racing, Sudeki etc. etc.  |

Ok. Hmm. Best games ever (IMO of course)
Zork is the best all time, followed closely by the total war series, then its a tie between assassins creed (especially the Ezio Auditore character) and Skyrim, then of course there's the civ games which are also epic.
I like GTA and Saints. I like NCAA football. I like shooters every now and then. Hmmm...what else. I just skipped over Nintendo Turbographics 16 etc etc. Lots of good games in that era.

OMG I LOVED Ragnarok Online! So funny that you played! I played back when I was younger for a long long time. Was one of my favorite MMOs! Community was amazing.

The last game I played on the PS3 was The Last Of Us. I really enjoyed the Naughty Dog games especially Uncharted. The FPS games are cool too, but it is not my forte. That would be RPG's and sims like NBA2k but really have not played anything except World of Warcraft as far as gaming goes. I tried to get into the new Final Fantasy but I did not give it a real go. I have never even heard of the games you are talking about Caylus lol, I am officially 'out of the game'.

Well that's one of the reasons I'm playing 5, love the LA scene. It keeps crashing though. Buggy as shit. |

went hardcore gamer few years later.
online, Tribes still sticks out in my memory. so many stories lol
WoW was maxed dps pali, quit well before last expansion
runescape, warframe, Battlefield over CoD,
saints row, bioshock, C&C etc
FF series, bahahmut lagoon...so many jrpg...creative minds/worlds there...
couple years behind now with releases,
so hit me up for nostalgia *chuckle*

Not sure how it is nowadays, back in the day we used to completly erase any option on graphics or sound to squeeze out those 2-3 extra milliseconds.
