There are certain times when we can't find any rest, adrenaline rushes for several reasons, anxiety, fear of the unkown, existential fears, heartaches or other occurences. This is by no means some kind of wondermedicine and it most likely won't even be felt by a lot of people. At a certain point in my life I couldn't get any sleep and had all of the issues in the threadtitle at once. That was when I discovered the beauty of background-noise. Put on some headphones and let it run while you're trying to sleep for some nice sleep-through nights ^^ First I stumbled upon this little gemstone:
www.rainymood.com/It helped me relax while I was still in school. Helped me to get my thoughts in order and even the "pressure" build up in my head slowly faded away which lead to a relief of the pain I was experiencing. Other great ways to get your thoughts ordered are white noise variations. You can find those here and they are widely modable: simplynoise.com/Some might find the constant humming of a blowdryer or a washing-machine more comforting. Youtube has a wide variety to listen to: Hope this will help a few people, there are a lot of great relaxing sounds, some like melodic sounds better, in that case I can tell from personal experience that classical music or zen music is very helpful to me. Here a great example which I like combined with rainymood: Stay sane

That's a wonderful post, thank you for this Ben! I've been having dreadful insomnia recently and am quite afraid I will have to resort to sleeping pills again. It's funny because for a long time my insomnia was really under control - but I've been having spikes of just awful anxiety insomnia and racing thoughts...all of it. I will try putting your resources to use - you know I used to have a little white noise box in my room that played rain forest, rainshowers, thunder, crickets - that was always really soothing. I may have to get another one.
Lately, I just fall asleep to pokemon...

Migraine is rooted in liver, neck, water lack. Also low iron.
Adrenaline bursts - check for mitral valve prolapse (also for anxiety) as MVP affects the electrical wiring of the body.
Insomnia - try a safe hypnosis video or mp3. Deepak Chopra has one specifically for sleep through Amazon. The induction is enough to put you down if you're tired.
