I'm currently staying in a homeless shelter and over the next week or two I'll be getting my scheduling down and also entering into a behavioral health / psychiatric program that is going to help me get into some housing as well as some job training and placement but I'll have some extra time on my hands for a little while so I'd love to do some reading.
What is everyone's favorite books here?
I really admire all of my Blue Monarchian friends and your wisdom and insight so what are some that really have made a huge difference in your lives? What books are inspirations to you?
I'll be checking back on this thread periodically.
PDF/EPUB links would be preferred but I have a few resources I can search for the titles in this thread.

I would say the works of Carlos Castaneda, personally. The Wheel of Time, A Separate Reality, Journey to Ixtlan, Tales of Power, The Second Ring of Power, The Eagle's Gift.
IMO Juan Matus's way of thinking provides a solid foundation with which to approach perception.

I actually haven't read any Castaneda but I always hear people talk about him. Thank you so much for the suggestions!

Ooh this is a difficult question. One of my favorites was called "The Secret History of the World" by Mark Booth That book changed my entire outlook on reality. Another one that really affected me was "The Myth of Sisyphus" by albert camus, that one you can get online free. www2.hawaii.edu/~freeman/courses/phil360/16.%20Myth%20of%20Sisyphus.pdfLet me think about this question though.

Thank you Therin, Sol, Ben and Caylus so much for the suggestions!! And Caylus, definitely looking forward to more of your suggestions and I personally am so enthralled by the story of Sisyphus as I've only heard summaries of the myth so I look forward to reading it more in depth. Hope all of you are well.

Wheel of Time, Focault's Pendulum and Castaneda's works are all excellent choices. A song of ice and fire is a great, still unfinished, series, full of insight and memorable witty qoutes, the tv show GoT while good and entertaining falls much behind the books overall. The Idiot or any of Dostoievsky's woks. Most greek classics, with Plato at the head. Morning of the Magicians by Pauwe and Bergiers, Civilization One by Knight and Butler, The Universe, a biography by Gribbin.
