K so I get banned on GLP a lot. They really love me but they seem to be in a constant state of moranacy over there. When I used to get banned, I couldn't view any page within the GLP site. This last time I got banned I noticed that I can view any page but can't post anything or star anything.
I was just wondering why they would all of a sudden change the ban parameters (and what triggered them to do so)...or did they change the ban parameters?
Can anyone else verify this?

Same here. Can't vote either but view just fine.
I suspect they did this so people could still have access to critical info on all that chaos (shootings, BLM etc.).
I think over the course of the last 3 years or so I've been not banned only for like 8-9 month.

I noticed it first just after the Dallas shootings. |

I can verify that there are tiers to the banning system. I have always found this incredibly intriguing myself - I noticed it back before I decided to just throw in the towel and become a permanent upgraded member. One of the 'tiers' of the banning system appears to be a 'view only' ban which does not permit posting. I don't think it's a mandela effect though, because I recall it being that way when I first starting posting there three years ago as well. How in the world they make the determination at which 'tier' to ban you? I have no clue...and I'll tell you, it's certainly interesting. |

Here's one of the things that's really annoying though - bans are so easy to trigger. There are all kinds of stupid phrases and urls that will trigger the autoban. Things you wouldn't even expect, like the phrase "read a book" for instance.
Also Trinity mentioned if you post 3 times or more in 30 seconds you are also autobanned.
