I doubt Christ was the deciever, it was the church itself which deceived itself. It became an organization, and while that seems to be good idea, an organization comes with caveats, mainly public image. The bigger it becomes the more pressure it gets and popular interpretations of the bible we know today are a result of it. Secondly the church cares too much about recruitment that it straight up feeds people bullshit. Either wishful thinking or fear tactics. Like the whole idea that God is against suicide isnt actually true, its just fear tactics for their own agenda. Same reason they glorify the death if Jesus of the Life of Jesus. Had they glorified his life they would have to acknowledge abiding by his teachings, so instead they glorify his death and assume it to be everyone's easy "get out of jail free card" or easy "ticket to heaven" and then use it to try to "all or nothing yourself" people into the religion by trying to get you to say you believe that you need to full on say you believe that Jesus he is your "lord and savior who died on the cross for you". As a side not, I'd be weary making any your "Lord". Considering something to be your Lord implies they are your "master" and you are as a slave. Considering something to be your God implies they are your "creator" and you the created. |
