This is what the physical manifestation of power is... Hate it or love it... It's just a tool but tools do what tools do and this symbolizes as best as I can describe, what real power is. If you don't understand this, you don't understand power. Again, just a symbol and a metaphorical one, yet very real if you comprehend it correctly.

This is a Colt Python...
.357
One of if not the best revolvers ever made.
At one point went for a couple hundred dollars and now goes for 4-5 grand... Or more...
For a reason, besides the fact that solid tools are great investments.

LEGENDARY
Like none other, will never be another like it.
Kobe or Lebron can try to take from Jordan but there is only one in that lane... And there will always be just that one.
Best to reinvent a new lane.

"If Jordan is the Original, Kobe is the remix" I heard, maybe, and Lebron got skills too, but it's a different league today than it was 20 years ago...
It's really not comparable...
Like so many things, subjects, topics, etc...
It just is what it is...
What made Jordan so special was his will to win... Kobe too but again, different leagues all together...
No comparison
Jordan disappeared for 2 years inbetween his double 3peats for the same reason Shaq said "Olajuwon is always the best to me... He couldn't be broken", or something like that.
The Colt Python is a revolver that was the epitome of what most think of revolvers as, failproof... But all revolvers aren't immune from the trials & tribulations, and can fail, and do fail, even if not jam-o-matics...

Scars might break you in the short term but in the long term, they are what can also make you...
My scars make me like the scratches on my fathers Colt Python, didn't really affect it's value, if anything it made it special.

But the Colt Python was special to me because it was one of the first guns I ever fired... along with a target .22 cal and a 12 gauge shotgun...
All before ever hitting double digits in age.

The kickback of a long barrel .357 (much less 44 mag) demands respect.
No 'if, and or buts' about it...
Control & Power go hand in hand...
A 12 guage shotgun is very serious too...

I'd really appreciate being unblocked from a site I supported from damn near day one, from an owner I supported from before this site began... And I still got her back...

The Colt Python is a revolver that was the epitome of what most think of revolvers as, failproof... But all revolvers aren't immune from the trials & tribulations, and can fail, and do fail, even if not jam-o-matics... This is a topic that I have revisited time and time again. I am a huge Lebron fan and even though I was right into basketball in the Jordan era, I was a fan of Shawn Kemp. Who is better Lebron or Jordan? Quite simply there will never be another Jordan. He is the most skilled and lethal basketballer that ever lived. That is the best way to describe why he is better than the rest from my point of view at least. Kobe was close, but he moulded in Jordan's image and worked his ass off to be a copy essentially. Lebron has dominated and will likely appear on paper better than Jordan for those that do not study the game itself and spectate casually through media. Which brings me to Wilt Chamberlain. On paper he was the beast of beast but will never get a top ten mention as the best in the game. Well maybe he might scrape in there but my point being paper don't mean much, its that killer instinct that few players have and can control. The stat that probably matters most is championships. Jordan 6/6 (championships won vs times in final), Lebron 3/9.
Now for your metaphor of real power. I can see where you are coming from. This is how I would see it. For me power is ability to control. Now I would calculate value. That is easy for me, life is the most valuable mechanism in my reality. Plants, animals, complex animals, insects all need to be rated in priority so I would place the complex animals at the very top. People are complex. With that established, something to end this cycle of life in an instant would have to be viewed as the symbol with the most control. This is the colt python yes.
It is all relative though and that is why there are no certainties.
That colt represents as much power as the universe allows it too. I would need to be able to control 8 billion complex life forms with it to consider it the real manifestation of power.

Look... They say Cancer will drown all signs, especially water signs but if you really wanna get deep this Scorpio will drown you...
Not meant to be disrespect, just is what it is.
Olajuwon is TBE because... most feared with no answer.

You probably know what it is to get checked in the paint...
Or even outside the paint.
That's why Olajuwon was TBE
He wasn't the most flashy or the most dunkiest of any, he didn't appeal.to the highlight reels the best... but at the end of the day....
There was no answer for his boldness, and bold is genius.
Footwork, Kobe picked up on it, Jordan had a knack for it, Lebron powers his way through it... but big men are what win...

Jordan retired for 2 years and had a lackluster 3rd year comeback for fear of Olajuwon, for which there was no answer.
And Shaq knew because he got dominated early in his career...

And David Robinson said "I feel like I guarded him well, but he played better than I have seen anyone play... (saves himself by saying) In a long time.
League MVP says that, as he gets manhandled... and the media blames Dennis Rodman.

When I think of basketball culture I don't even necessarily think of the NBA... Back when I was in middle school, on game day it was white dress shirt & tie because they were instilling class, but the ones who really understood the culture understood the rawness of it.
Early in high school there were 2 boys that were called the twin towers, Aaron Duckworth & Shea Witing... They had everything it took to make it to the NBA skillwise but it was Rashard Lewis who would eventually start, and go straight to the NBA out of high school, skipping college.
But in middle school there was Willie & Wendell Waddle... All you had to do to understand what it was like to play against a Jordan or a Kobe was to play against a couple of dudes like that... In 7th grade dunking from the free throw line, no answer except awe of the raw talent.
Blacktop ball is where the raw talent plays, they might have been in gangs and lack the grades, but if you are really looking for raw talent alone, NBA is filtered.

NBA vs blacktop cont...
I used to go to Daytona for spring break and lots of people did, from all over. They used to have basketball tournaments and dunk contests, all that stuff...
In the NBA you see some nice dunks but I saw a white dude from Indiana park a convertible under the goal, when he dunked it he had to jump over the bitch, dunked it, and he let go of the rim, fell right in the drivers seat and drove off...
Yeah, he won...

The Colt Python was more or less around for decades but eventually production stopped because it wasn't really too profitable. It's not powerful because it's a gun, merely a tool, rather it represents craftsmanship and legacy... Many think of the 1911 as Colts mainstay but in an era of plastic guns, the Python will be the the lasting keeper of Colts namesake.
FINE Art... true care... that's a few more words to drive the point home.

To understand the idea of this, and what it really means, is to understand what made America great.
Sophisticated simplicity.
