It's not selective hearing in the sense of not listening to what you don't like but in the true sense of amplifying certrain noises while shutting down others. Excellent thread Ben Regarding time and time-travel. In 2013 I was idly flipping through cable channels, looking for something interesting. Natgeo channel had show about the brown mountain lights, which I had never heard of, so I paused and watched. I happend to have a little led light/red laser pointer that I had just bought a few days before, and so I thought I might have a bit of fun with it - so I shined the led light at the screen, trying to make it look orbish. And right away the people on the show started freaking out and I busted out laughing. I zoomed it around a bit, and then switched to the laser for a bit.... they were so amazed - and I was lmao I had no idea that the show was from 2008 - very cool - the light going through time and appearing in color on their night vision gear (lol!) Anyways - the mechanics of this? imho - this is in the acausal-breaking-pysics bin. However; the light is the thing that is most interesting. |

Can't promise you anything.
For something to truly repeat is impossible in our Dimension, literally.
It would mean an action or even thought happening in the same location in 3D at a different time.
If it would happen at the same time it would be a 1Dimensional action.
But since we, as humans are bound to our planets movement through 3D space, we are never, not even a second or millisecond ago, truly in the same 3D location.
This makes a repeating action by law a continuation or a projectation or a representation or a fractal of our first action or thought.
This means, that even this current ark of the story once told, is but a reflection and is by law something else and still the same.
Now, the fun comes if you are aware of this and therefor can tell that there has to be a difference by law. This difference and with it the variations of your perception on reality, is what makes the story interesting as there is always something you haven't discovered yet.

Which unleashes the "mysterious" energyreserves leading to the high-speed-functioning.
Which sadly has to be tamed once you're aware, or it can result in some fuked up situations where you are not in control of your mind.

Our body isn't burning calories fast enough for the brain while it needs 80% of its whole reserves just for burning those reserves.
Can you imagine.. you first have to stop your digestion (well slow it down significantly) for your metabolism to tap into that energy.

Literally forcing the impulses pathways and with that their amplitude through the neural filter to your conciousness.
You can force the signal into a "loop" before reaching any braintissue which is functioning to interpret it by delaying or dimming the effect it has on you.
You do so by first identifying the signal over and over again, until you're almost certain which one it is.
This can only be done by observing the effect the signal has on the mind, you're not looking at the signal but at it's effect to identify it.
This is essentially quantum mechanics, measuring the effect not the cause to determine natural laws.
If you know what effect certain signals have you can start anticipating them.
Since the effect is an indirect result, originating from the connections in your brain, you have total control over it.
Now you learn to adjust the intensity with which the effect arises.
This is where feelings trump facts (see wat i did thar), it is your own perception which you can alter to achieve this.
Drugs help in the beginning if you're not familiar with meditation, just so you know what it feels like to get your perception altered.
Remembering that feeling and with training you master the dimmer of conciousness.
Which in itself is a great tool to have! - remember fukitol? ye dats this -
You control what effect a signal has on your brain now to a degree.
You can alter its intensity willingly. (Mind over Matter)
By doing so you effectively alter your reality.
This may be abstract.
So is your mind.

There are opposing factions within a hypothetical singularity that arise from the structure of the sheer infinity.
Imagine the singularity as the beginning and the end, you already split it into a dual system simply by defining it.
But how can it be limitless if a simple observation of such a concept is enough to force it into a motion which can be understood in relation to the mind that envisions it?
The answer to this is more mundane than one is ready to accept.
We are under its impression, be that literal, if you like to personify, or as an allegory.
Due to this order arising from the mandate our perception gets by its surroundings in the physical and abstract,
we have no option but to accept the transcendental nature of that which we fantasize about
and the inevitable case of us being a part of something that has no need to recognize our consciousness as an individual, or life itself, to exist.
As some other guy mentioned, once you are able to eclipse these laws, even in theory, there is no way of going back into the world from whence you came.
You can however leave a trail to yourself, for others to result at that conclusion , or, if skilled, lead others to the same denouement.
Humans, rooted into a temporary physical form, are no exception to this.
However, there is good news, this journey can be experienced within, there is no need to die to realize this.
Thought experiments are as real in their consequence as batting protons against each other.
The resulting cognizance, if possible to be theorized into more than a hunch or a gut-feeling,
can change your views on reality and the underlying laws by which it, and we, are governed fundamentally.
Approach this method and read up on knowledge in varying fields, so you are able to grasp the interrelation between abstract thought and concrete vision and theory.
I think it is called thinking.
