even when its true? Paranoia is contraindicated for mental health. Yet a very real phenomenon is that the supposed experts in reading people, such as judges in a court of law and the cia in counteracting subterfuge from within, are exceptionally bad at spotting liars, even when they have doubts.
We assume all people will display obvious hallmarks of lying. Its not true. That nervous people must be liars...not true. That a liar won't look you in the eye....not true. That strong confident people must be trustworthy. Not necessarily true...
Even when our doubts nag and nag, we want to believe in people. Its not a bad thing, but apparently even computers which stick to the facts are better at following obvious deceit cues because we have a bias set evolutionary to believe

Its not a bad thing, but apparently even computers which stick to the facts are better at following obvious deceit cues because we have a bias set evolutionary to believe Rationally, evidence and previous knowledge+experience should lead to a set of relatively realisic expectations ranging from preferable to unpreferable. Only afterwards with sober observation and time for evaluation you can decide if the expectation fit reality or not. Irrationally, the negative judgment has already been made, and flimsy biased thoughts are added to it, and all subsequent experiences interpreted in confirmation bias mode to supplement the premade skewed/paranoid vision. One route is along empiricism, skepticism and effortful rationality. (mistakes can readily be admitted and alternatives considered) The other is emotional, deranged, ideological/dogmatic and takes obvious mental shortcuts. (resulting in downward chaotic or despotic path) (Institutions of power and enforcement tend to..... )

I've had paranoid moments, days at most. Didn't take drastic actions as a consequence of those afaik.
Somehow.. people with real constant paranoia scare me.. a lot.. not just their ideas about something horrible going on or that has happened... but also their emotional demeanor... and if they try to convince me of their paranoid ideas and drastic plans... jeez.. (in my life, some fellow patients and my mom were like that...)
:L

Well done, I'm channeling Hitler and have now, again, invaded Poland.
