A friend starts freebasing and his girlfriend walks in while he's starting. He asks her if she would like to partake and she responds. "I'd rather not, my body is my temple, the soul of which I shall keep." It resonated with me from the time I heard it. I didn't indulge either. Has any heard this line before?

Yes, I have heard the comment before. Nothing exciting just some passing comments over the years.
What feels significant to you about this interaction? Listening to your gut/intuition is always a good thing, do you feel you following the right decision?

I thought the statement was a rather profound one, actually, since your body must be strong enough, not only to 'contain' your soul, but to protect as well.

Yes! That is a beautiful facet!! It really gives one pause to think about the majesty that is the physical makeup of our bodies, in order to propel our soul around. AND--that we, in some way, actually choose how our own bodies are formed to act as a painting of our soul.

Hi, it seems so similar to me. I have experienced this case many times. My friend have been worried about me and recommended to read this book. I worked really good for me that's why I suggest you to check it.
