Ya I know. I registered and left this forums several times... I've lost count of how many. But tho, I'm still battling depression that causes me to make either impulsive and/or shitty decisions (eg leaving this forums) or something like that. There is a glimmering of hope something that is part of this forums that attract me, its my depression that pushes me away from this sometime. Anyway, if you have any tip on how to effective dealing with depression, that'd be great. I thought I knew fundamental mechanisms behind a bit of everything, but regardless of that Im still not connected or not relating to people that much thus my depression. The realization hit me, I know very little but we are always learning everyday so here this thread is.

I can't say counseling helps because I have no experience with that, but I find Jordan Peterson's lectures to be a great help in finding out how to be productive, and how to find meaning in life. One thing that helps with depression for sure is feel like you're being productive whatever that means for you.

I've lost count too xlegic , however it doesn't matter anyway and as you see, the door is always open. I cannot tell you much either or would tell you some general stuff that could apply or not, so I think here is something that cheers you up and teaches you useful stuff about yourself and how to improve the connection to - again - yourself, as well as to others ~

I guess finding something, anything, that you can connect your heart and soul to, pour out, that grabs your genuine interest and is in sync with who you know yourself to truly be. Lost connection with self seems to be a big source of frustration and depression with me. So I want to get back in a flow where I can work on things that I care about and love. Other thing is finding ways to cope, rise up to challenges and sources of stress. Eliminating or making them smaller one by one, either in your mind and/or by actions with real life result. Learned sense of helplessness often gets in my way with that, or feeling overwhelmed or intimidated. Therapy can help, CBT and schema therapy are options for depression. Other than that, general or specific habits to optimize mental and physical health, need to find out what works for you. EDIT: I want to read this book: kellybroganmd.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/amindofyourown-sample.pdfHer videos: www.youtube.com/channel/UCrd5zW6kiV52XuvOvIeYrEQ(mainly focused on women but think can be useful for men too)

Thanks gentlemen and ladies for replies. That mean a lot. I'm now feeling better now that I finally know why my 18 years of inner depression is simply because of my lifetime quest to understand different types of relationship among between self, other people, environments, and beyond and guess what.... ... I already came up with answers in form of ASD theory on forming pattern thread and paper I wrote. That time I didn't really realize it does describe types of relationship.

I was going to share, too, in my just recent post that it would be good to minimize your time on these types of forums and keep a healthy distance from the meme.

For quick pick-me-ups, I like to watch Chappelle Show and old MadTv skits. You can't help but smile and laugh ;-)
But do seek help if you feel you need to please.

Thank you. If you like to read about it, then type mark manson vulnerability into a search engine. I've read a lot on his blog, and he has a great style to get to the core of human struggles. ...and for the video watchers, how about this one ~
